Preheat the oven to 220°C to prepare for final baking.

Heat an oven-safe skillet until very hot, then add olive oil. Add sliced steak in a single layer, season with garlic salt and pepper, and sear for 3 minutes, stirring once to ensure browning. Remove while still slightly pink.

Retain 1 tablespoon of pan juices. Add bell pepper and onion, and cook for 5 minutes until onions are translucent and peppers slightly crisp.

Remove skillet from heat. Spread waffle fries evenly in skillet. Layer 4 cheese slices over fries, then half of steak and vegetables. Repeat with remaining steak and vegetables. Top with remaining cheese.

Place skillet in preheated oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, until cheese is fully melted and golden spots form.
